Dr. Rick Ranen


Dr. Rick Ranen was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Dallas, Texas where he completed his bachelor’s degree at The University of Texas at Dallas and in 2001 received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  Following graduation, Dr. Ranen completed a one-year advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency in the U.S. Army at Ft. Benning, Georgia and then spent the following year in the Republic of Korea as the 2nd Brigade dental surgeon located in Camp Casey.  Following discharge from the U.S. Army, Dr. Ranen returned home to the great state of Texas and his hometown Dallas where he worked as an associate in various dental practices for a few years until joining South Texas Dental in 2007 and became an owner and Clinical Director.  Dr. Ranen loves the patients and the team at Rootine Dental – Superior Smiles,  “We are like one big family!”  As a partner at Rootine Dental – Superior Smiles, my goal  is to consistently provide superior clinical dentistry and satisfying customer service in a family environment. In his free time, Dr. Ranen enjoy’s travel, scuba diving, sports, and spending time with his wife and three children along with his puppy Rita.

Dr. Ranen belongs to the ADA, TDA and Dallas County Dental Society.


Dental Hygienist

Dimary was born and raised in Plano, Texas. She graduated from Collin College and received her Associates in Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2019. She is very passionate about her profession and committed to helping you achieve optimal oral health. Dimary loves getting to know her patients on a personal level and educating them on how to maintain a healthy smile. She strives to make hygiene appointments a comfortable and positive experience. The care she provides is gentle, yet thorough, and done in a courteous manner. She will always greet you with a warm caring smile and make you feel at ease throughout your hygiene appointment.

Dimary is the oldest of 3 children, bilingual in both English and Spanish, and member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. In her spare time, she loves spending time with family and friends, enjoys visiting new places, and learning new things.



Sterilization Tech

Esmelda grew up in Honduras where she received her high school diploma. She relocated to Dallas in 1992. She began her dental career right here in Dr. Kenny’s office in 1995. During the past two decades at Dr. Kenny’s office, she has absolutely perfected her role as sterilization assistant for the entire office. Because of her behind-the-scenes work, patient treatment flows smoothly. Sterilization is a vital part of Superior Smiles goal of excellent patient care and Esmelda oversees this aspect of the practice.  Esmelda has a daughter who is studying nursing at Texas Women’s University and a son who attends Richland College.
